Winter 2007/2008

The past few winters have seen average to above average snow amounts and vacancies for peak winter periods are already starting to book. We're recommending for the 3rd year in a row that you book early in order to secure your lodging for the winter months.**

Eldora is skiing, snowboarding, cross country and snowshoe friendly!
Eldora Mountain Resort is gearing up for the 2007 Season, and it looks once again like mother nature will not disapppoint.**

Eldora Season Passes are on sale through October 14th, and their tentative open is already scheduled for Nov. 16th. Stay tuned for additional info as it comes available from the folks in the Eldora Marketing office.

Conditions: Eldora receives an average 300 inches a year and boasts Colorado's best snowmaking system. Coverage is 100% of groomed terrain, more than any other resort in Colorado. (**Fresh from the rumor mill: we've heard from an unconfirmed source, who may or may not be employed at NOAA, that we should expect higher than average 'Up Slope' conditions this year. Yikes! Remember St. Patrick's '03?!)
Terrain (From beginner to expert): the most difficult area is Corona Bowl - double black diamond! (Knarly.) With the base at 9300' and top at 10800', the ski area sports a 1500' vertical drop.
Riders: Eldora's Super Pipe is 17 feet tall! Watch for upcoming events. Last year's Sobe Rail Jam was sick.
Skiers: Eldora has 680 acres of ski-able terrain with the longest 3 miles long. Watch for upcoming events. Mountain Dew and Subaru are rumored to be planning big events again this year.
X-Country: Nordic trails and an easy 5 minute drive will put you at the Nordic Center trail heads and their trail heads.

Reynolds Ranch and West Magnolia
Multi-Use Trails
Several Trail systems are literally right out side your door. Within minutes, you can walk/run/jump/slide
/ski/bike to Reynolds Ranch or West Magnolia trail heads from the lodge in a matter of minutes. (Like, we mean 2 to 10 minutes.) The West Magnolia area has been recently upgraded by the Forest Service with trail improvements and new Kiosks with local information and trial maps.

Blackhawk / Central City:
Restaurants, museums, limited stakes gaming, and casinos such as the Riviera, Isle of Capri, Harvey's, and Harrah's. A livley yet rustic destination if you enjoy gambling or visiting any of the all you can eat buffets serving everything from prime rib to fresh shrimp and crab legs.

Eldora Mountain Resort:
Eldora has Alpine / downhill skiing, a terrain park for snowboarders, and a Nordic Center with trails for cross-country and snowshoeing. All of the Nordic Trails convert to a hiking/biking trail system in the Spring/Summer/Fall.

Central City Opera House: The 1878 Central City Opera House was built by Welsh and Cornish miners, and is the most recognized of Historic Properties in the National Landmark Historic District. Known for its elaborate frescoe ceiling, seats carved with the names of Colorado pioneer families and notables of early stage and opera, and perfect acoustics. There are many other fascinating historic buildings in the district. Central City Opera also owns and maintains 28 other historic buildings including 25 residences, built in Central City between 1860 and 1900. These properties, which fall outside of the Central City gaming district, have been the Association's responsibility since 1932. For 67 years they have housed company operations, performers and technicians during the summer opera festival.
